Who we are

Drink Direct (drinkdirect.ca) is operated by Severna Technologies Ltd., a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada, at 59 Annie Craig Dr, Etobicoke, ON M8V 0C4. For anything in this policy, contact roberto@drinkdirect.ca.

What Drink Direct does

Drink Direct is an independent research resource that tracks Canadian direct-to-consumer alcohol regulations by province. The site itself is public and free to browse — there is no login, no paid tier, and no account of any kind.

Information we collect

The only place on the site that collects personal information is the producer sign-up form. If you submit it, we collect your name, email address, producer type, and province, plus your business name and a description of what's blocking your DTC shipping if you choose to provide them — those two fields are optional.

We also collect standard, non-identifying traffic analytics (page views, referring pages, approximate location by region) through Vercel Analytics. This is described further under Cookies & analytics below.

What we don't collect: we don't require an account, we don't collect passwords, and we don't process any payment information — Drink Direct doesn't sell anything and has nothing to bill you for.

How we use it

Sign-up submissions go into a private outreach list. We use it to follow up with you individually about interprovincial DTC shipping and your broader software needs, by email or to set up a call, and to keep you posted if that turns into something: development updates, an invite to test it early, and a heads up when it's ready. This isn't a general newsletter, and we don't send legislative updates through it; everything we send is tied to your specific conversation with us.

By submitting the form, you're giving express consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) to receive these messages from Severna Technologies Ltd. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and we'll act on any opt-out within 10 business days. We don't use your information for advertising, we don't sell or rent it to third parties, and we don't use it to train any AI or machine learning model.

Cookies & analytics

Drink Direct uses Vercel Analytics for traffic measurement. It is cookieless by design — it doesn't set tracking cookies, doesn't use cross-site identifiers, and doesn't collect personal information. We don't run any advertising pixels or third-party trackers. Because nothing on the site sets a tracking or advertising cookie, there's no cookie consent banner to manage.

Third-party processors

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site and process sign-up submissions:

• Airtable — stores producer sign-up submissions for our outreach list. See Airtable's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosts the site and provides the cookieless analytics described above. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Both may process or store data on infrastructure located outside Canada, including in the United States. By submitting information to Drink Direct, you consent to this transfer.

Data retention

Sign-up submissions are kept indefinitely as part of our ongoing producer outreach list — this isn't a mailing list you're auto-purged from, it's a small, manually-worked list of people we intend to follow up with. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; see Your rights below.

Your rights

As a Canadian business, we handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request a copy of it
• Ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate
• Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it

To exercise any of these, email roberto@drinkdirect.ca — we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Drink Direct isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We rely on our providers' standard security practices (Airtable, Vercel) to protect submitted information and restrict access to it to the people who need it for outreach. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes to how we handle sign-up data will be reflected here before they take effect.
